Dianne Stenger trains out of the Randjesfontein Training Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg, where she has some 60 racehorses in her care.

Di has been involved in the training of horses for most of her life and she will be first to tell you that you never stop learning. In a sport where "Experience matters" more than most (the star of the show, the racehorse is unable to talk) you had better be able to read the signs and Di has certainly done her time interpreting these signs..

Di was assistant trainer to a number of top trainers. She started her learning under the then Champion Transvaal Trainer, Brian De Villiers before spending some time under the tutelage of Champion Trainer, Jean Hemming. Di was then assistant to the late Hennie van Wyk tragically claimed in the Henneman air crash.

Di then took out her trainer's license and has been training racehorses for more than 20 years since. In this time Di has trained many successful horses - see table below.

Career highlights include training the brilliant racemare, Jamaica - for stalwart owners David and Mertha Makins. Included in Jamaica's achievements was a trip down to Cape Town to win the coveted Paddock Stakes. And few will forget her emphatic triumph in the November Handicap when she slammed her male rivals.

Another feat was capturing back to back victories in the GRADE 1 Garden Province stakes at Greyville with Dancing Danzig.
